Sea Glass & Stone Ring Workshop - Full Day Weekend Workshop

Create a beautiful sterling silver ring set with either a piece of sea glass or a cabochon stone in this full-day, hands-on jewellery making workshop in Cardiff. Using real silversmithing tools and traditional techniques, you'll make something that couldn't be bought in any shop — a completely one-of-a-kind piece, made entirely by you.

Running from 10am–5pm with a short break for lunch, it's the kind of day that's hard to describe until you've had one. Slow, absorbing, and quietly satisfying — you'll be surprised how quickly it passes.

If you'd like to use sea glass, you're welcome to bring your own and I'll check it's suitable, or choose from a carefully selected piece from my collection. Prefer a stone? I have a range of 10mm round cabochons ready to pick from on the day.

Bring a picnic for Waterloo Gardens or grab lunch from a café on Wellfield Road.

What you'll learn

You'll work with a piercing saw to cut your metal, shape your ring on a mandrel, and learn how to solder and build a freeform setting around your sea glass or stone — finishing with a professional polish so it's ready to wear straight away. Every step is taught clearly and at your own pace. No prior experience is needed, and by the end of the day you'll have made something you'll genuinely want to wear for years.

All tools and materials are provided — there's nothing to bring except yourself.
