Make a Sea Glass or Cabochon Ring – Full-Day Workshop
Create a beautiful sterling silver ring set with either a piece of sea glass or a cabochon stone in this full-day, hands-on workshop.
Running from 10am–4pm with a short break for lunch, you’ll enjoy a creative day with other Cardiff locals. Bring a picnic to enjoy in Waterloo Gardens, pop into a café on Wellfield Road, or simply relax in the gallery.
If you’d like to use sea glass, you can bring your own (I’ll check it’s suitable), or choose from a carefully selected piece from the River Taff. Prefer a cabochon? I have a range of 10mm round stones ready for you.
If you have a Weekend Workshop Gift Voucher, you can use it toward this session and simply pay the difference at checkout.
This workshop is a perfect introduction to traditional silversmithing techniques for beginners or anyone keen to try jewellery making. You’ll learn professional methods while enjoying a friendly, hands-on experience, and by the end of the day you’ll leave with a completely unique silver ring you can wear with pride.
What You’ll Learn:
- Using a piercing saw to cut your metal
- Working with a bench peg
- Soldering your ring
- Shaping your piece on a mandrel
- Creating a freeform cabochon or sea glass setting
- Polishing and finishing your design ready to wear
