Sea Glass & Stone Ring Workshop - Full Day Weekend Workshop

Sale price £149.00

Turn a piece of sea glass or a gemstone you love into a ring you'll treasure

You're welcome to bring your own sea glass or choose from the collection in the studio. Some people arrive with a favourite piece they've kept for years, perhaps found on a holiday, or a much-loved beach, while others enjoy looking through the colours and shapes to find the piece they want to work with. We spend time at the beginning of the day making sure everyone has a piece that will work beautifully for their ring.

If sea glass isn't your thing, you're also welcome to make your ring using a beautiful natural cabochon gemstone instead. The stone-setting techniques are exactly the same, so you can choose whichever option inspires you most.

During the morning, you'll make the silver ring itself, learning how to shape, solder and finish the band. By lunchtime, you'll already have something recognisably lovely taking shape. The afternoon is spent building the setting around your chosen sea glass or gemstone before carefully securing it in place.

This is an absorbing day with plenty to get stuck into, I've taught this workshop for years and have gradually broken the setting process down into manageable stages, so we work through it carefully together, one step at a time.

The full-day format creates a lovely, relaxed atmosphere in the studio, with everyone’s focus on their own ring, whilst also spending time chatting to each other and seeing the different designs taking shape

Whether you bring a piece of sea glass with a story attached, choose one from the studio collection, or fall in love with one of the natural cabochon gemstones, you'll spend the day turning it into something completely bespoke.

Sea Glass & Stone Options

Sea glass from the studio collection is included. If you prefer a stone, there’s also a selection of 10mm round cabochons to choose from on the day.

You’re also welcome to bring your own sea glass. Pieces around 1–2cm with a fairly flat back, reasonably even depth, and smooth outline are usually easiest to set; smaller pieces can be fiddly, while larger pieces create more of a statement or cocktail-style ring.

If you’re unsure, you can bring a few options or choose from those at hand in the studio.

Age Guidance

Suitable for ages 11+ (with a participating adult) and ages 16+ independently.

Cancellation, Refunds & Changing Dates

Plans change, so if you give at least 14 days’ notice, you can move your booking to another available date free of charge or request a refund. With less than 14 days’ notice, bookings are non-refundable and can’t
be transferred to another date, but you’re very welcome to send someone else in your place.

Buying As A Gift

Let me know when you purchase and I can send a personalised e-voucher to print at home, or a physical one in the post. Not sure on a date yet? A gift voucher gives them the flexibility to choose.
