Silver Spinner (Fidget) Ring Workshop – Full Day

Spend a day making a ring you won’t want to take off

Create your own silver spinner ring, with moving bands that spin freely around a wider silver ring. Over the course of the day, you’ll learn how each part is made and put together, working through cutting, texturing, soldering, shaping and finishing your ring.

You’ll make one wide silver base ring with up to three moving spinner bands, choosing the textures and finishes of each to make the design your own. It’s also a chance to try a wider range of tools and techniques than in the shorter workshops, including using the rolling mill to add texture to your silver.

The full-day format gives you time to settle into making without feeling rushed. Spinner rings look deceptively simple, but getting all the elements to fit and move properly takes care and accuracy. Watching the separate parts finally come together - and giving those bands their first spin - is one of the best moments of the day.

You don’t need any previous jewellery-making experience. We work through the ring one stage at a time, so you can concentrate on the bit in front of you rather than worrying about the whole process. If you’ve been to a workshop before, there are plenty of new techniques to get stuck into too.

With a final polish, the ring is ready and you’ll be happily spinning away. This is a popular course with many participants returning to create another either as a gift or, more often than not, for themselves!
