Make a Silver Ring - Classic Weekend Workshop

Turn a strip of silver into a ring made by you

It's hard to imagine, when you first pick up the flat strip of silver that in just a few hours you'll be wearing it as a finished ring.

In this three-hour jewellery-making workshop you'll work through the process of turning that silver into a ring: measuring it to fit your finger, cutting and preparing the metal, soldering the ends together, shaping it round, and giving it a final polish.

Most people who come have never made jewellery before. I'll demonstrate each stage step-by-step and be on hand whenever you need me, so you always know exactly what to do and can relax and enjoy the process.

This is a lovely place to start if you've always fancied trying silversmithing. Most people are amazed by what they achieve in just a few hours, and it's not unusual to hear "I can't believe I made that". There’s just something different about wearing something you made with your own hands.

Ring Choises

Choose D-profile silver wire in 2.3mm, 3mm, 4mm or 5mm widths, or flat silver wire in 3mm, 4mm, 5mm or 6mm widths. You can choose a smooth or textured finish. Other options may be available by prior arrangement and may carry an additional material cost.

Age Guidance

Suitable for ages 11+ (with a participating adult) and ages 16+ independently.

Cancellation, Refunds & Changing Dates

Plans change, so if you give at least 14 days’ notice, you can move your booking to another available date free of charge or request a refund. With less than 14 days’ notice, bookings are non-refundable and can’t be transferred to another date, but you’re very welcome to send someone else in your place.
